Rachel Bautin
Rachel Bautin is a glass artist whose work is inspired by the beauty and complexity of the natural world. Based in the SF Bay Area, CA and Maui, HI, she is surrounded by Northern California’s diverse landscapes and the vibrant, tropical environment of Maui providing constant inspiration, Rachel’s deep connection to nature developed at an early age and continues to influence her art today. Her glass vessels and sculptures explore themes of transformation, resilience, whimsy, and the delicate interplay of light and color. Rachel began her career in 1997 at Nourot Glass Studio in Benicia, CA, where she apprenticed under Ann Corcoran, the wife of renowned glass artist Michael Nourot. Combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary experimentation, Rachel continues to expand the boundaries of the medium. Through her glass art, Rachel captures both the fragility and strength of the natural world, creating pieces that engage with light, texture, and form in dynamic ways. Rachel’s work can be found in select galleries including locations in Benicia and Calistoga, CA, Wailea and Kula on the island of Maui, HI, and Sedona, AZ. Outside of her work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband and rescue kitties, the ocean, scuba diving, hiking, gardening, and basically being outdoors. She is also an avid traveler, always eager to explore new places and draw inspiration from the world around her.
